This week I will cover:
Zuckerberg’s Twitter competitor, “Threads” ✍️
Breakdown of “Ego is the Enemy” by Ryan Holiday
Let’s get to it👇
Will Threads Kill Twitter? 🔪
You have probably heard of the Twitter alternative called Threads. Shortly after Zuck and Elon were rumored to fight, Zuck released this app.
Shockingly, the response has been pretty positive. Threads had over 50 million sign-ups in 24 hours. Many Twitter users were excited for a new platform.
I signed up to try and it out, and will say I am impressed. The app is extremely sleek and the UI is pleasant to use.
Engagement is very high for people using it, because the app will only push out content that exists in the platform, similar to early Youtube days.
To no surprise, Twitter has already threatened to take legal action against Zuck as Elon claimed in a Tweet that they “cheated”:
Twitter is issuing a threat to take legal action against Instagram for launching a new Twitter clone app.
Now we really need to see a boxing match between Elon and Zuck. That would settle it. Way easier than all this legal stuff 🤣 twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Neglecting all of the drama that could stem from this, I think the competition is good for the innovations of this social media style.
Twitter users were eager to jump on this train, the real struggle for Zuck will be getting his users from Instagram to use a more writing-friendly form of social.
I will be taking advantage of this new platform, or at least do some taste testing.

Ego is the Enemy ⚔️
In Costa Rica (on vacation) this week, I had some pretty pristine opportunities to pick up a book and read some pages.
I started diving into Ryan Holiday’s “Ego is the Enemy”. So far it’s phenomenal andI have extracted some pretty valuable lessons that I will share with you.
Find someone who is worse than you and teach them, find someone who is better than you and learn from them, and find someone who is equal to you to challenge yourself and get better. In order to realize the importance of these three tiers of growth, you must put the ego aside.
Be honest with yourself. Think about what you have done in the past, where you are currently, and where you want to be in the future. Accomplishing things and getting shit done doesn’t happen with a big ego. If you are constantly telling yourself you are doing well, but are really getting nothing done, you are setting up for failure.
When the student is ready, the teacher appears. Learn things from other people. Put your ego aside and absorb information like a sponge. Pretend you know nothing and learn as much as possible.
I will breakdown more takeaways from this book once I get further along.
I also recommend this podcast, it is a conversation between Chris Williamson and the book’s author Mr. Holiday.

My Weekly Win 🎉
Using vacation time to connect with nature, be active, spend time with family, and enjoy myself.
Vacation to me is living it the fuck up, by that I do not mean alcohol, parties, and relaxing.
I mean 4 hours of surfing, a workout in the sun, family pool time, and delicious meals with no phones.
Costa Rica has been a fucking blast.
Kept this week short because of that! Love you all
